Angkana and her husband Pramern had little money and nowhere to live. They tried staying with Angkana’s parents but that only caused problems, so they decided to rent a cheap house. When Pramern’s parents gave them a small amount of land, the couple approached Operation Blessing (OB) for assistance to build a small home. OB provided Pramern and his family with 17,000 baht (over $400 US) towards the cost of his new 70,000 baht home.
Pramern gradually bought the construction materials and then built the home himself over a period of a couple of months.
Operation Blessing has been in contact with Angkana and her husband Pramern, for over a year now. Their 7 year old daughter Syrinart, has been a part of OB’s Bless a Child program since September 2005. This program helps 21 children from families in Southern Thailand who have been affected by HIV.
Syrinart receives regular educational, medical and nutritional support. She also takes part in a monthly Kid’s Fun Day with all her other friends in the program.
On the 8th of September 2006, OB staff visited the family to see their new house, pray with them, and to present them with a gift of cooking utensils. The following day, Syrinart and her parents attended the Kid’s Fun Day at La Mae Church. It was an enjoyable day of games, songs, Bible quizzes, making crafts, and eating lots of food.
Pramern, Angkana and Syrinart are now so happy to have a place of their own and to be a part of OB’s Bless a Child program.
