Kids from HIV+ Families Blessed Through OB Project

Operation Blessing’s Bless a Child project provides holistic care for 21 children in Chumporn Province, Southern Thailand. Each child’s family has been affected by HIV in some way.

  • The holistic care provided for each child includes:
  • Education: Tuition fees, school uniforms and supplies
  • Nutrition: Food and milk
  • Medical: Annual health checkups
  • Spiritual: Follow-up from a local Pastor, counseling services,
  • monthly Christian kid’s program and activities

Once a month all the children join together for a fun day of activities, songs, games and arts & crafts. The parents often join in and have just as much fun as their children. On Saturday 9th September 2006, the kids in the Bless a Child program took part in one of these monthly fun days. There were more than 40 people in attendance.

Each child took part in ping pong ball games, English action songs, a Bible quiz, and arts & crafts activities where they made fluffy key rings. Before the children left they were given lunch and a health pack containing soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, cereal and milk. The day was a huge success and fun was had by all the children, parents and volunteer staff.

The Bless a Child program in Chumporn has been running since June 2005. It is administered by OB in partnership with the La Mae Gospel Church which makes it possible to provide the necessary on-location care for each child. A number of needy families in this program also receive livelihood or individual assistance from Operation Blessing.
